•Managing a team of in-house patent professionals and outside counsels to support the company's patent portfolio activities.
•Managing the patenting flows and patenting strategy for inventions sourced from the country the manager works in.
•Assisting in strategic management of existing portfolio of issued patents and on-going prosecution of pending cases
•Reviewing and evaluating the quality, cost-effectiveness and scope of work performed by outside patent counsel
•Training in-house patent professionals in patent practice to come up to speed quickly on specific technology and background art relevant to inventions
•Reviewing invention disclosures prepared by in-house patent professionals for completeness and accuracy
•Overseeing outside counsel work preparing and filing US and foreign patent applications
•Coordinating follow up and review of draft patent applications between outside counsel and inventors
•Managing patent prosecution costs within budget.

•Law degree from reputable and American Bar Association accredited law school.
•Prefer M.S./Ph.D. in Materials/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Physics/Life Science.
•Registered to practice before US Patent and Trademark Office.
•At least 7-10 years experience as practicing patent attorney, with primary emphasis on drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
•Excellent English communication and writing skills.
•Training in the local patent law is preferred.
•Fluency in the local language is preferred.
•Relevant industry work experience and experience in Asia an advantage.
