Management and coordination
•Maintain a constant relationship with the sales, marketing, finance and operations (supply chain) teams to identify and assess demand forecasting drivers
•More specifically, review activity plans with sales and marketing, understand potential effect of the activities on demand
•Check and challenge the assumptions behind forecasts from the sales and marketing teams with the help of relevant data analysis (historical data, seasonality, market trends, activity plans, stockouts, etc.) for the active planning window
•Based on inputs from Marketing and Sales (market trends, portfolio changes, strategic priorities, etc.), and using statistical forecasts, develop unconstrained forecasts for the period beyond the active planning window
•Align on an unconstrained demand plan with sales team
•Duty to warn - identify risks in the demand plan, effectively communicate the risks to the affected parties and drive a resolution plan. Escalate if necessary.
•Prepares and facilitates demand review meeting, prepares meeting minutes, ensures follow-up on action points
•Align on the product inventory strategies (safety stock, cycle stock, reorder points for each inventory segment) with the Supply Planning team
•Supports the management of inventories
•Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning. Adjust forecast following supply planning constraints.
•Monitor sales and marketing activities once they have started and highlight variances where they differ from the sales forecast, identify potential service or inventory issues, drive a resolution plan
Analysis, reporting and maintenance:
•Use and maintain Anaplan tool as needed and interact with HQ teams on possible improvements
•Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, monitor and adjust statistical forecast models (applicable when the system functionalities are ready)
