1. Managing the customer relationship, during and outside of tenders, understanding their
changing needs and influencing them to desired outcomes
2. Direct selling outside of major projects and assuring delivery
3. During the prospect phase supporting Business Development by:
- Communicating business opportunities
- Daily networking and lobbying with relevant authorities, and setting up meetings
with appropriate contacts in business and government
- Promoting the company and its products to Customers, with BD support
- Organising and preparing BO Reviews and Go / No Go meetings, with BD support
- Preparing the bid strategy in relation with Customer Director and BD support
4. During the tender phase is responsible for managing the production of the winning
tenders:
- Preparing the tender for the Region (collecting RFP, organising translation and
distribution, tender co-ordination and management, tender submission) and
supporting negotiations
- When appointed as Tender Manager for a specific tender supporting Bid/Tender
strategy and consolidation and, under Customer Director supervision, managing a
multi-disciplinary team to prepare the Region parts of the bid and handle
negotiations up to the coming into force of the contract with support of Bid Manager
from Operations
- If not appointed as Tender Manager, supporting the Tender Manager from the date
of appointment (in principle the Go Date) up to the coming into force
5. Responsible for e-Project tenders after the Go/No Go meeting for area of responsibility
from detection/prospect phase up to coming into force
6. Supporting the Customer Director and the relevant Regional Business Development team
to improve/solve issues in order to improve customer satisfaction
7. Gathering local market intelligence (competition, industry mapping, customer technical
requirements and tendencies) for their area in conjunction with the regional Marketing
Manager
8. Providing inputs for the preparation and updating of country strategy plan(s)
9. Able to propose consultants to Business Development team
